Biography of Ven. Revata
Born 1st September 1971 in Mawlamyine, Myanmar. The Venerable Revata is now one of the principal teachers at Pa-Auk Forest Meditation Centre.
Educated at Yangon University, he earned a B.Sc. degree in Zoology in 1994. He then taught English and computer technology until 1998 when he entered Pa-Auk Forest Monastery.
Since his ordination on 10th November 1998, he has been practising serenity and insight meditation under the guidance of his preceptor, the Venerable Pa-Auk Sayadaw U âcinna.
He speaks English, Thai and Myanmar. Ven. Revata began teaching meditation to both local and foreign meditators at Pa-Auk in 2001, when he also began a systematic study of Pàli and Later the Buddhist Sutta Commentary. He has been teaching meditation to foreign meditators for almost four years.
Two books written by Pa-Auk Sayadaw and Ven. Revata has been published in Myanmar Language. He gives talks both in Myanmar Language and English.
He was invited to assist the Pa-Auk Sayadaw in teaching a meditation retreat at Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery from 6th to 19th November 2005 in Singapore. This was his first visit to Singapore.
