Biography of Ven Revata

Born in 1971 in MawLamyne, Myanmar, the Venerable Revata is now one of the principle teachers in Paauk Tawya Meditation Center.
Educated in Yangoon University, he earned a B.Sc degree in Zoology in 1994. He then taught English and Computer Technology until 1998 when he entered Pa-Auk Forest Monastery.
Since his ordination in November 1998, he has been practicing samatha and vipassana meditation under the guidance of guidance of his precerptor, the Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw U Acinna.
Fluent in Thai, English anf Myanmar, Ven. Revata began teaching meditation to both local and foreign meditators at Pa-Auk in 2001 until now, when he also began a systematic study of Pali and later the Buddhist Sutta commentary.
This is his first time to Singapore. He is assisting the Pa-Auk Sayadaw in teaching a meditation retreat at Lian Shan Lin Monastery and is eager to share the Buddha Dhamma with all interested person.
